Garrett Acker

Founder & Director of Player Development

Garrett Acker is the founder of One Percent Baseball and owner of the South Texas Tribe. A San Antonio native, Garrett grew up playing at McAllister Park and competing for select teams before attending Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, where he played as an outfielder and left-handed pitcher.

He continued his playing career at the University of the Incarnate Word and Northeast Texas Community College, later walking on at UTSA before finishing his collegiate journey. After undergoing Tommy John surgery and stepping away from playing, Garrett joined the coaching staff at UTSA, working under Jason Marshall and later Patrick Hallmark. There, he developed a deeper passion for coaching and player development at a high level.

Garrett’s coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that progress is built daily — not through shortcuts, but through intentional work, accountability, and a strong culture. He launched One Percent Baseball to create an environment where athletes could grow both on and off the field. Since then, he has built a full-time training program, a successful select organization, and a staff that shares his commitment to discipline, development, and doing things the right way.

For Garrett, it’s not just about building better baseball players — it’s about building better people.

Sean Arnold

Director of Online Training & Assistant Director of Player Development

Sean Arnold is a former Division I athlete at UTSA and an All-Conference performer at the University of the Incarnate Word, where he stood out as a versatile defender and vocal leader on and off the field. His playing career was built on grit, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level — all of which he brings into his work with athletes today.

As Director of Online Training and Assistant Director of Player Development, Sean leads the design and execution of training systems that are both high-quality and accessible. Whether working with players in person or building online programs, he’s focused on helping athletes take ownership of their growth through structure, accountability, and purpose.

Sean’s mission is simple: to develop confident, complete players through intentional work — and to build a culture that values effort, integrity, and progress.

Christian Hernandez

Director of Strength & Conditioning

Christian Hernandez is the Director of Strength & Conditioning at One Percent Baseball, where he leads all performance training programs with a focus on building strong, explosive, and durable athletes. He joined One Percent in 2023 after five years at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he worked with multiple Division I teams—most notably Baseball and Softball.

During UTSA Baseball’s historic 2022 season, Christian played a key role in player development, training design, and performance tracking using tools like GPS and Velocity-Based Training (VBT). His approach blends science-backed methods with a deep understanding of how athletes grow—mentally and physically—at every level.

Christian began his coaching career working with middle and high school athletes, helping young players develop the right habits early. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Kinesiology, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach.

Sam Peacock

Director of Operations - South Texas Tribe

Sam Peacock is a former college athlete and standout utility player who brings leadership, adaptability, and a deep love for the game to his role as Director of Operations for South Texas Tribe. A South Texas native, Sam played collegiately at Hardin-Simmons University as both a pitcher and shortstop, earning multiple MVP and district honors during his playing career.

Growing up in a small-school program with limited resources, Sam learned early on how to make the most of every opportunity — a mindset he now passes on to the athletes he leads. Known for his ability to connect with players and families, Sam takes pride in building a culture that values work ethic, team, and character.

Off the field, Sam’s commitment to community and service is just as strong. He has volunteered with local emergency response teams and is driven by his faith, family, and a desire to mentor the next generation. His approach to leadership is grounded, people-first, and always focused on long-term growth — both as players and as young men.
